Autoclave
What is it
Autoclave molding is a known technology to produce carbon fiber parts. It is a cheaper option when the quantity of pieces required is low.
How it works
Autoclave is a pressure vessel, heated at 130°C and equipped with vacuum systems. The composite laminates are placed in the mold (which can be metal or resin made). Then, outside the mold, a vacuum bag – compressing the composite laminates – is applied. At this point, the mold is placed inside the autoclave, where the polymerization process gets started.
