Autoclave
Autoclave moulding is a standard technology for manufacturing carbon fibre products. It is an economical alternative when dealing with small production runs.
How it works
The autoclave is a pressurized vessel heated to 130°C with a vacuum system inside. The layup is placed in the mould, which is made from either metal or resin. It is then vacuum bagged, which serves to compress the composite materials as well as the actual mould. At this point, the mould is placed inside the autoclave to complete the carbon fibre curing process.
